Too many thoughts are swirling around in my head at the moment. Some of those thoughts are about things I like to think about, some are about things I have to think about, and some are about things I'd rather not think about at all. Mostly, I can't stop thinking about the changes our school board wants to make to our district and how the child of mine who would benefit from them the least would be affected by them the most. And how that would destroy the very reason we've worked so hard to stay here in the first place.
So I'm trying hard not to pretend I can control the things I can't control and I'm trying hard not to be frustrated with the power elected officials have over my life right now, and I'm trying hard not to scream at the next person who says "Kids are resilient!" because don't even get me started on why that continues to be the biggest cop out ever. What I am doing is fighting like hell to change the things I can, and of course I'm trying hard to keep it all in perspective.
But it's Friday (yay!) so it's time to focus on what I'm going to pick up for take-out tonight and what movie we're going to watch for Movie Night. Even professional worriers like myself need to take the night off.
