When I was 16 and you were 18, I knew you'd be a great father. And I knew that that would be the most important thing I would ever need. I married you because I wanted my kids to look like you. And be like you. And to be a piece of you. And I knew you'd take care of me (of us) but I didn't know you would do it so selflessly. I didn't know you'd be the greatest. I didn't know that.
You taught the kids how to ride bikes and you usually know before I do when they're ready to try new things. You challenge them and encourage them. You demand more from them than I do. You give Arden drawing tutorials and you teach Perry how to put things together. You have ideas about what you want to teach them and there are things that you want them to know.
They know they are loved by you.
When I was 16 and you were 18, I knew you'd grow up to be some of the things you are, but I never dreamed that you'd be all of them, and so very much more.
I love you, babe. Happy Father's Day. xox
