Me: "Okay, guys. Time to wrap up what you're doing because we're going to meet Grandmafor breakfast."
P: "Wait, we're going to go to Grandma's for breakfast?!"
Me: "Well, we're meeting Grandma for breakfast. At a restaurant."
P: "So, we're going to drive our car and she's going to drive her car, and then she's going to
meet us at the store?"
Me: "Well, actually, we're going to drive our car and pick her up, and then we're all going to
go to the store together. I mean, restaurant."
P: "Ohhhh, so we're going to the restaurant and then we're going to Grandma's for
breakfast."
A: "…"
Me: "No, we're eating breakfast at the restaurant with Grandma."
P: "So, we're going to eat at the restaurant together?"
Me: "Yep."
P: "Do they have grilled cheese there?"
Me: "Probably, but we're going for breakfast."
P: "Remember when we went to that one restaurant and I got French toast?"
Me: "Yep."
P: "That was awesome. Okay, so, when are we picking her up?"
Me: "Uh-huh… I mean, soon. Like in 20 minutes."
P: "Is she going to ride in the back with us? Or in the front with you?"
Me: "In front with me."
P: "Okay. Are we going to go into her house to get her or is she going to come straight out
to our car?"
Me: "Umm, she'll probably see us and come out."
The phone rings. It's my mother offering to take the kids to her house after breakfast. Another conversation (very similar to the one above) follows, as do questions about cheese slices.
